Programme Load

Programme participants are recommended to invest approximately 65-80 hours for the programme completion. They will have 35 to 40 hour classes with the tutors, 15 hours of practical classes and training, and 15 to 20 hours of the own project analysis.

Depends on the level of the certification and may include the certification process (contact us for more info). T The program fee without the certificate equals to $1400, with requiring the Level B certificate equals to $2400.

What is IPMA?

Founded in 1965 in SwitzerlandInternational Project Management Association (Eng. International Project Management Association, IPMA) united the project, programme and portfolio leaders of all countries and cultures. IPMA members accumulated the single list of competences, confirmed and understood in Europe, Asia, Africa, Middle East, Australia and also in North and South America.

Today IPMA members count for 70 national and transnational companies. Membering associations develop IPMA competences in their countries and communities. Thanks to the thousands of practitioners, companies, governmental facilities, universities and colleges, educational organizations and consulting companies approaches and tools are united into a single competence system.

It has implemented its own certification system since 1995.

Day 2. Module 1

Introduction to the Certification: learn about the examination and project preparation

Meeting with the assessor, International Project Management Association representative in Ukraine. You will learn about the certification requirements, the level required, the conditions of taking the exam, projects and programmes preparation.
We will introduce you to our special guest and talk about the way strategy transforms into the projects and how your portfolio projects ensure meeting the strategic goals.

Day 3. Module 2

Project planning and initiation

In this module you will learn about the proper project planning as the main programme structural element. The key task of this module is to achieve the understanding of how to plan projects. You will learn how to formulate proper goals and to set basic project results, how to to define the success criteria and get to know the importance of understanding the stakeholders of the project.
We will also consider the ways how to decomposit the results, to create the Work Breakdown Structure and will learn the basics of Product Backlog. We will discuss the ways to build the Project network chart and build the project plan judging by this chart; Additionally, we will discuss the main problems that arise during the execution of the project and directly affect its’ effectiveness, how to take them into account and minimize at the planning stage. We will consider the issues like – how to estimate timing and to construct schedule while considering the influence of uncertainty. Conditions for building a project plan – can they be good.

Project planning practice: structures, plans and schedules

We will consider the structures, plans, schedules of the project which you will also use in the future when preparing a description of your own project case.

Day 5. Module 3

Project team and its management

In this module we will discuss the main project and program managers’ tasks at all stages of a project, starting with the team compositing. We will talk about the individual skills of project manager needed for effective team management, principles of communication, motivation for the team members and the influence of various factors on it, leadership and changing management styles in the process of project development.

Day 6. Module 3

Project implementation within programme

This module is aimed at studying tools for monitoring the implementation of individual projects and programmes as a whole. You will study assessment tools and how to take the necessary management decisions in order to achieve the strategic goals of the programme and the project. Based on the paradigm that we can only manage what we can measure, we will find the necessary indicators that are the subject to measurement, an Earned Value method and its main indicators. What is necessary for the minimization of the risks’ negative impact on the programme strategic goals achievement? How can you launch a project?

Day 7. Module 4

Project analysis. The preparation to the programme examination

Presentation of your own project is a great opportunity to update and systemize knowledge that had been received during the programme. On this day, we will analyze your projects, answer questions and provide individual advice to prepare the final project report. We will also recall the certification requirements together and answer for the examples of exam questions to get prepared for the examination.

Examination

3-hours writing exam consists of:
· test (multiple-choice)
· an essay (short description of your project main stages)
· intellectual task
The examination is available in Ukrainian, English or Russian (optionally).

Summary

We will summarize the whole knowledge route and recall general concepts and approaches. The students will receive the test results (1st stage of certification) and have an opportunity to ask the questions left regarding the thesis defence.
